Celebrating 50 Magnificent Years of Solmar

This year, Solmar Hotels and Resorts proudly marks a momentous milestone: 50 years of excellence in hospitality. As part of our year-long celebration, we hosted a grand banquet that honored the legacy and achievements of the past five decades, welcoming our executive committee, long-standing partners, esteemed guests from both the US and Mexico, as well as the Governor of Baja California Sur.

The evening was a beautiful fusion of Baja flair and Spanish heritage, paying homage to the roots of our founding family who emigrated from Spain. Guests were treated to a delicious Baja-style dinner with a Spanish twist, as well as a captivating visual journey through time. A gallery chronicled our evolution, from our humble beginnings with the single Solmar Resort to our current collection of seven stunning properties along Cabo’s picturesque coastline, offering guests a nostalgic walk through our history.

The entrance to the banquet greeted guests with a touching collection of images depicting the inspiring story of Solmar’s founding family. The display traced back to the early days of our founders – from the packing machine that brought the visionary behind Solmar, Don Luis, to Cabo’s shores to the current executive team steering the company towards new heights. The evening culminated in an official recognition of Solmar as pioneers in Cabo’s hotel industry, followed by a dazzling drone show that lit up the night sky.
