Here’s something to look forward to when Rancho San Lucas Golf Club reopens.

Ride Outside the Box

Director of Golf Brad Wheatley has assembled a small fleet of Skooza electric scooters designed for single-rider mobility. Billed by the company as “the first and only self-balancing, aerospace aluminum, 100% electric fat tire golf scooter in the world,” the sleek, handsome scooters are easy to maneuver. A player’s golf bag is strapped behind the rider seat for easy access.

The club’s Skooza Golf Mode model, a first in Los Cabos, features a 1,200-watt motor and a top speed of up to 28 mph. A one kilowatt battery pack, containing high-density lithium cells, translates to up to 20,000 miles of riding, zero emission–and a smaller footprint for the planet. Best of all, the electric scooters are a super-fun way to navigate the three distinct ecosystems (dunes, beach and desert) on the Greg Norman Signature course at Rancho San Lucas.

“Climate change is real and traffic congestion is increasing all over the world,” the San Diego, Calif.-based company states on its website. “Promoting the use of personal, electrically-powered vehicles is not only a fun way to help improve these conditions, it’s necessary for our collective future.”
